Delay Environment
Ribbon controller, single oscillator, electroacoustic resonator, single microphone, Kyma
This system processes a ribbon-controlled sine wave in real time using Kyma. A performed melodic phrase is captured into multiple delay buffers, each assigned independent playback direction, duration, and spatial position.
Buffers are retriggered stochastically, allowing harmonic interaction to emerge through temporal offset, repetition, and spatial distribution from a single source gesture.
Reverberation is produced by an electroacoustic resonating chamber designed and constructed as part of the project. This chamber functions as a physical extension of the digital processing chain, integrating acoustic resonance into the system architecture.
Further development would include continuous buffer recording modes and real-time mapping of performance data to buffer parameters such as playback speed, phrase length, and spatial position.
